About Brianne
Brianne is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by James Parker, Ph.D., of DTA, and Lacee Lovely Lawson, LPC-S. She is a humanist, social justice-oriented therapist invested in helping others heal and grow. She works with adults struggling with attachment and intimacy, dating and relationships, meaning and purpose, perfectionism, anxiety, depression, or general existential dread. She especially enjoys working with the marginalized, misfits, outcasts, or anyone who feels like one.
Brianne is a humanist which means that she believes that humans are innately good, deserving of empathy, and possess the power to heal and grow. Her counseling approach focuses on helping clients to identify their emotions and feel their feelings without shame. She aspires to help clients to embrace vulnerability and authenticity in an emotionally supportive environment so they can create the meaning, connection, and joy they desire in their lives.
Brianne’s theoretical approach is rooted in liberatory justice frameworks and incorporates techniques from emotionally focused therapy and existential therapy, among others. Brianne believes that one of the most important factors in therapy is the therapeutic relationship, so her focus is on building a strong relationship with her clients and utilizing techniques based on individual client needs.
Brianne completed her undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in sociology at Rice University and her master’s in counseling with a concentration in queer affirmative therapy at Southern Methodist University.
In her leisure time, Brianne enjoys building her community of friends, spending time with family, organizing, watching movies, and trying local restaurants.
Brianne is currently accepting clients at the Dallas office in person and via telehealth. To schedule a free 15-minute phone or video consultation to determine if you and she are a good therapeutic fit, please email brodgers@dtacare.com.
