About Emily
Emily Daspit (she, her, hers) is a Licensed Professional Counselor with DTA. Emily has earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas. Before pursuing her master’s, Emily graduated from Texas A&M University, Gig ‘em! She has experience in various settings, such as a domestic violence agency and residential treatment center working with substance use and mental health disorders. Her area of interest includes dual diagnosis, personality disorders, depression/anxiety, grief, relationship issues, mood dysregulation, and self-esteem.
Emily is passionate about helping others and dedicated to walking beside clients during the therapeutic process. She strives to be an advocate for her clients both in and out of the therapy room and encourages mental wellness through various evidence-based practices. Her therapeutic modality consists of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and naturally gravitates toward humanistic qualities of warmth and empathy. Emily utilizes active listening skills, motivational interviewing, and genuineness to foster a collaborative and impactful relationship with her clients.
Emily believes that therapy is a vulnerable process and incorporates individualized, culturally-sensitive approaches to benefit her clients. Her goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental therapeutic space throughout their healing journey. She helps you lean into your most authentic self and learn the necessary tools to overcome life challenges.
Emily is currently seeing clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, self-esteem, attachment styles, and relationship/marital issues.
