About Sarah

Sarah is a dedicated therapist with a profound passion for fostering meaningful connections and authenticity in her work. She has made it her life's mission to create a safe and nurturing environment for her clients, where they can embark on a transformative journey towards self-discovery and well-being.

With a heartfelt commitment to empowering adolescents, teens, young adults, and families, Sarah's primary goal is to help them recognize their inherent worthiness and the significance of prioritizing their mental health. She firmly believes that every individual has the potential to lead a fulfilling life, and her work centers around guiding her clients on the path to realizing this potential.

One of Sarah's core beliefs is in the incredible power of vulnerability and self-compassion. She understands that these two elements are essential building blocks for a healthy and resilient mindset. Through her counseling sessions, Sarah encourages her clients to embrace vulnerability, as it is often the gateway to personal growth and healing. She also emphasizes the importance of self-compassion as a tool for overcoming challenges and nurturing a positive self-image.

Sarah's approach to therapy goes beyond the individual and delves into the complex issue of generational trauma. She recognizes that many of us carry the weight of intergenerational burdens that impact our mental well-being. Sarah is dedicated to addressing these deep-rooted issues, guiding her clients towards healing, and helping them break free from the cycles of inherited pain.

Sarah holds an undergraduate degree in liberal arts from Southwestern College, a background that has enriched her holistic approach to counseling. She completed her journey of academic excellence by obtaining a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, where she honed her skills and knowledge in supporting individuals, couples and families through their emotional and psychological challenges.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys exploring new places, reading, savoring good food with friends, and taking peaceful walks with her dogs, Phoebe and Bonnie. As a compassionate therapist, she helps clients heal, rediscover their strength, and move towards a brighter future.

Sarah is currently accepting new clients in the Dallas and Fort Worth location and via telehealth. To schedule an in-person or virtual appointment with her, please email slouy@DTAcare.com.
