What it's like to sit with Anna

Anna has a passion for working with clients navigating relational challenges within themselves, their partnerships, and their families. This includes an emphasis on supporting couples in chronic conflict and teens struggling with self-harm. She believes that neither struggle nor healing exists in a vacuum, and that the stories we tell ourselves shape our lives. Together, she helps clients uncover unhelpful patterns, reconnect with their authentic selves, and create new narratives that reflect the relationships and lives they crave. Her goal is to help clients recognize that they are more than the pain they've experienced or the stories they've inherited.

She calls her clients out, jokes with them, and grieves with them in equal measure. Believing that language is equal parts play and power, she explores countless metaphors and analogies alongside the deeper work, and she holds strongly to the idea that there is a difference between our problems and our identity — a lot of the work is forging a healthy relationship between the two. Expect to get creative as you break down stigmas together — drawing, mapping, writing — with the goal that clients feel seen and safe.

Her approach draws from Narrative Therapy, Family Systems, and Person-Centered practice. Three words that describe her therapeutic style: genuine, curious, empathetic.

Her clinical training and continued study focus on Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Family Systems, and attachment-based, person-centered care. She also draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy — with particular clinical experience in relationship issues, self-harm, life transitions, grief, anxiety, and mood concerns across adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Anna provides LGBTQ+ affirming care.
