What it's like to sit with David

The core of David's therapeutic belief is that an authentic and nonjudgmental relationship creates genuine and transformative change. They believe that healing and growth begins with the client's freedom to be curious about themselves and be fully present in the therapeutic relationship. David creates an environment where the client is able to be free and honest; where the client has room for all parts of themselves to show up and find acceptance and integration, even the parts that may be hidden. Unlike a teacher, David sees themself as a guide journeying with the client; helping to navigate when encountering the uncomfortable, the unexpected, and the unconscious.

David is an unabashedly eclectic therapist with a relational psychodynamic bend. They believe that clients deserve the highest level of care tailored to their unique circumstances, cultures, and identities. David specializes in long-term, depth therapy with individuals and couples working through anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex trauma, relational trauma, and religious trauma. They are passionate about helping clients find radical self-acceptance, identity, and long-term mental health.

David is very open to working with all clients, and is especially well-suited to adults navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex and early childhood trauma, and religious trauma; relationship and communication issues, including couples work; and clients in the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities.

David draws on relational psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theory, Jungian and depth work, attachment-based and Gestalt approaches, person-centered and narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness, integrating them to fit each client rather than fitting the client to a model.
